Even the biggest stars have off days and it's a relief to see Britney Spears, and Charlie's Angels stunner Cameron Diaz are plagued by spots, too.
But the stars know how to cover up a breakout without caking on tonnes of foundation. There are great, lightweight concealers around that hide blemishes and don't look like you've applied them with a trowel. Here are my favourites.
Disguise red and fiery spots with REVLON'S COLOUR STAY CONCEALER. The yellowy base will hide redness and blend well with your own skin colour. It doesn't have a great deal of cover but did stay put. From Boots and Superdrug, pounds 6.29.
COLLECTION 2000 COVER-UP STICK works like any other stick concealer but did find this slightly oily at first. However, it lasted the pace and works especially well on top of heavy foundation. It's OK as a last resort. From Superdrug, pounds 1.79.
BEST BUYIf you're on a budget try THE BODY SHOP'S TEA TREE STICK. This natural antiseptic will treat and cover. It's great for young skin and comes in a selection of shades. It smoothes nicely on to the skin but sadly didn't last very long. Priced pounds 4.50.
For complete coverage, try BENEFIT'S BOING CONCEALER. This cake concealer is a make-up artist favourite because of its creamy texture and staying power. You only need a little and apply by patting to the affected area. From Boots and House of Fraser, pounds 15.
For precision, try CLINIQUE CONCEALING STICK. The slimline wind-up wand means it won't take up a lot of room in your make-up bag. Its fine tip means it is easy to blend and great for tiny blemishes but it is not very practical for all over the face. From Clinique Counters, pounds 10.
TOP TIP: If using a concealer straight from the stick on to a spot, always wipe the end clean before you reapply or you'll keep spreading the infection. TOP TIP: It's a myth concealers go on under foundation. Always apply on top or you will rub it off. Apply by patting on to the skin and finish by setting with powder.
