Jessica Simpson to shoot her new movie 'Employee Of The Month'
Jessica Simpson, film and pop star from Texas, is in the historic  town of Santa Fe, New Mexico to shoot her new comedy film -'Employee  Of The Month'. It has been reported that Jessica is charging $1,240  for every word she speaks in the film.
Who can understand the value of each word more than a singer? Hot  pop star Jessica Simpson has come up with a unique arrangement with  the makers of her new comedy film, 'Employee of the Month', which  says she will charge $1,240 for every word in the film. According to  In Touch weekly, the actress will be paid $1 million for the film in  which her character will speak a total of 806 words. In addition,  she will collect $267,000 as perk package.
The Film, directed by Greg Coolidge, is currently being shot in New  Mexico. People magazine reported that Gov. Bill Richardson and his  wife Barbara of New Mexico hosted a dinner for Simpson and her parents, Joe and Tina, on Thursday at the New Mexico governor's mansion. Jessica's costar, Dane Cook also joined in for the dinner.
Though Jessica's character in the new comedy is not as sexed up as that of Daisy's in 'The Dukes of Hazzard', she does appear in one scene clad in a bikini. Jessica, plays the role of a new hottie cashier in a Costco-like store who has two of her co-workers, played by Dax Shephard and Efren Ramirez, battling to win her affections.
Jessica's co star Andy Dick has reportedly commented that the actress is getting a lot of attention on the sets, "Everyone is hitting on her right now."
'Employee of the Month' is the second film of Jessica Simpson.
Jessica Simpson Album Shifts Gears Along With Personal Life
The singer's long-delayed album, And the Band Played On, was originally due in November but was pushed back shortly before the news of her split from husband Nick Lachey was announced. Up to that point, Simpson planned on making the album a country-club combo. But now that she's gone through so much, she's reconsidered what kind of statement she wants to make.
"I think that with my music, you can't help but tell people a story about your life," Simpson said. "I believe that every artist, that's their artistry — it comes out of them naturally, through lyrics, through music, through instrumentation. So with this next record, you will see and hear a lot of things I've been going through. And if that can offer any inspiration to anybody else going through the same situations, so be it. That's why I'm here."
So far, Simpson — who's executive producing the project — has recorded with a host of producers known for their hits in R&B: Corey Rooney, Scott Storch, and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
The latter pair are collaborating with Simpson on about seven songs, she said. "They are angels, they are amazing, they're so talented," she gushed. "You are in awe just sitting next to them and being able to write with them. And Janet Jackson, who I absolutely adore, is down the hall. She's such a sweetheart, and they've got such a great vibe. We've had a great time working together."
Having Janet down the hall helped inspire the sound of one track, called "Back to You." "It's a ballad that reminds me of Janet," Simpson said. "It's a really raw, stripped, kind of naked song that's just honest." Despite all the current things Simpson could be writing about, the song is a flashback about her first boyfriend in high school, inspired by rereading old journal entries.
"When you persevere through so much, when you go through so much, you want to show that in your music," Simpson said. "Music is my soul, and when I ever want to express myself, I'm either writing or singing. I can't imagine not having music be a part of my life."
And the Band Played On is due by the end of this year, Simpson's rep said.
Simpson album stays away from Lachey songs
Jessica Simpson is refusing to hit back at estranged husband Nick Lachey in song on her next album And The Band Played On, and has featured tracks about her friends and family instead.
While Lachey used their November 2005 split to inspire a series of tracks on his latest album What's Left Of Me, including the rather tellingly-named I Can't Hate You Anymore and On Your Own.
However, Simpson is refusing to sing about their break-up - despite living her married life in front of TV cameras for Newlyweds: Nick And Jessica.
Her manager/father Joe says: "She's talking about having fun with her girlfriends. Enough has been said. Let's go on and live our lives.
"It's a lot like Mariah's (Carey) record, you know. They're both the same kind of singers, they're both ballad singers."
Jessica Simpson Blasts Cacee Cobb Firing Reports
Jessica Simpson has struck back at reports that she dumped her BFF and assistant Cacee Cobb because she was too close to estranged husband Nick Lachey.
Simpson's spokesperson explains, "CaCee and Jessica will remain close friends. And CaCee will continue to assist Jess until the end of the month."
Cobb has reportedly kept in close contact with Lachey throughout the couple's break-up and the pair were photographed chatting it up all night at a Las Vegas, Nevada club in April as well as being seen together again on 1 May at a nightclub in Los Angeles, according to reports.
Us Weekly reports, "Insiders know she was fired." Another source adds, "Maintaining a friendship with Nick was important to CaCee. She was determined to do it, despite what Jess wanted."
Nick is really "sticking it" to Jessica... Literally.
Jessica Simpson Buys Up 'Team Jessica' T-Shirts
Star magazine reports that when Jessica Simpson visited Kitson boutique in Los Angeles last week, the singer/actress picked up "Team Jessica" T-shirts in a bid to keep up with sales of the "Team Nick" T-shirts. "Jess saw the stack of 'Team Nick' T-shirts was much lower than hers," a source told the magazine. "Nick's T-shirts outsell hers 40 to 1. She said, 'I'm going to wear this.' ... She was kind of sniffling, like she was going to cry." Simpson splurged $10,000 during shopping spree.
Lindsay Lohan Dismisses Simpson Feud
Lindsay Lohan has blasted tabloid rumors she's feuding with Jessica Simpson following a row at a party that left the pop star in tears. Lohan insists the story is far from true and she's actually one of Simpson's biggest supporters as she struggles through her divorce from Nick Lachey. The Mean Girls star reportedly snapped when Simpson refused to thank her for sending a tray of drinks over to her table at a recent Hollywood soiree. But she tells Interview magazine, "I did not go into this industry to be shown on the cover of some magazine fighting with Jessica Simpson, who I think is a sweet girl. She's going through a divorce, and it's hard enough for her. They (tabloids) basically said I was verbally harassing this girl. I'm not that person."
